Googling shows it may actually be a fairly common prob. Still looking to see
if I can find a fix somewhere. Do the kbd and mouse work if you boot the
affected system from the live cd?
Came across something you may be able to try. I recall you can choose in the
grub menu so you can try the following
use the arrow keys to choose your boot option. Use the "e" key to edit the
line. Add "noapic" minus the quotes of course at the end of the initrd line.
The ctrl-x to boot it. If this works then we need to find were to edit for a
permanent solution
