Opening a window # in the GNOME window list using a keyboard shortcut

Hey everyone,

I'm looking for a way to assign the windows in the GNOME/Metacity window
list to keyboard shortcuts, similarly to the way that you can assign
workspaces to keyboard shortcuts.

For example, I want to be able to hit something like Ctrl-Alt-1,
Ctrl-Alt-2, and Ctrl-Alt-3 to switch to the first, second, and third
windows in the window list panel widget, respectively.

I've tried looking at the keyboard shortcuts dialogue, CompizConfig, and
gconf-editor, but haven't found anywhere that I can assign the shortcuts.
I'd prefer to keep my Ubuntu install as stock as possible (i.e. I'd rather
not mess with different window managers if I don't need to), but I'm open
to suggestions. Any ideas?

Cheers,
