Ubuntu 10.4 & Keyspan 19HS

Greets:
Looked at all the threads on line but I thought this issue with the
firmware was resolved in 10;4 and following releases. Guess not. On
boot the driver for the Keyspan 19HS is loaded, the firmware is
available in /lib/firmware but Ubuntu does not load it.

How do you get the kernel to load it at boot. The keyspan is needed to
connect to serial adapters on modern laptops that only have USB.
