FWIW, I've used GPT on a BIOS system but probably not in a way that's
helpful to you. Like Tom, I have a 3 TB disk (actually a RAID) so need
to use GPT. But I'm not brave enough to put my system on it; it's just a
data disk (i.e LVM with various LVs). So the only BIOS that goes near it
is the 3ware BIOS. I've had no problems, just the nuisance of the
various disk tools that don't yet understand GPT.
