Hmmm. I know I said RTFM was ok.  Probably should have asked for at
least a little specificity.  Since I know -459.67°F of perl . . .,
well Thanks anyway.

FWIW, I ended up approaching the problem from a "distributed
computing" POV.  (A bunch of folks using the wetware between their
ears)
