I loaded up 10.10 on my eeePC 1000HE Netbook and had a hell of a time
trying to figure out what this new GUI was. I thought it was awful!
After how many years with Gnome being almost like M$ but still different
enough to be better than M$ they go and do a radical change like this
using Unity. I dumped it so fast and went back to my normal Gnome desktop.

All the work that has been put in to Linux to get it to look close to M$
so as to get more users to cross over to our side and they go and make
it more difficult to use than before.

Remember when no one wanted to try Linux due to the complexity of
loading Linux on your system? Then they fixed that and people still
complained about getting a blank screen with a login and not knowing
what to do once they logged in. We get all those issues fixed up so it
would be easier for a newbie to make the change to Linux only to screw
it all up.

I would suggest that the installer ask if you want to install Unity or
the usual Gnome desktop instead of this big surprise.
