In honour of the Karl tradition (I know, I know) I am rather happy to
proclaim that my Jaunty -> Karmic -> Lucid was almost glitch free.

Glitch #1

/etc/event.d/sv was not being honoured. Will be kicking upstart into
shape once I figure out why it is rebelling.

Glitch #2

The installation script of firebird classic during the Karmic to Lucid
upgrade almost did me in. do-release-upgrade just exitted without
completing the cleanup and reboot processes when I had to kill the
firebird install script which had gone defunct.

apt-get autoremove, dpkg-reconfigure linux-image-latest-generic and a
reboot got me into Lucid although with a few scares in the boot
messages. Boot up to login screen is significantly faster than that in
Jaunty.

My Nvidia GT 9800 is still behaving with the driver Lucid installed.

Now on to check out flash, audio and other essentials
