Open pavucontrol and see how pulse is configured. Use that to setup your
audio. Use some app to play a wav file, click on the playback tab in
pavucontrol and see if the horizontal VU meter registers anything. If
so, sound is being piped to the control. You merely need to direct the
sound to the correct output. Make sure volume control is up.
I just got back from a three-day business trip where I took my computer
with me. I hooked everything back up when I got home and the network
refused to work. I beat on it for an hour until I noticed I hadn't
plugged the power source to my router in. Look for the simple gotchas.
