  Michael,
One of the best sites Ive found for apps that are not in the Synaptic 
list are at http://www.linuxappfinder.com/
If you cant "Install Now" its because you havent got APTURL set up 
properly, in which case you can simply download the .DEB file and 
install it locally. (As Ubuntu is a fork of Debian)
