I have had JACK Control installed for maybe a year or so now, but I never
used it so far. So today I thought I would give it a try, just to see if
it works. I got the following messages when I clicked the Start button:
”18:38:41.614 Patchbay deactivated.
18:38:41.718 Statistics reset.
18:38:41.828 ALSA connection graph change.
18:38:42.068 ALSA connection change.

sh: artsshell: not found
18:38:54.880 Startup script terminated with exit status=32512.
18:38:54.881 JACK is starting...

JACK is running in realtime mode, but you are not allowed to use realtime
scheduling.
Please check your /etc/security/limits.conf for the following lines
and correct/add them:
@audio - rtprio 100
@audio - nice -10
After applying these changes, please re-login in order for them to take
effect.
You don't appear to have a sane system configuration. It is very likely
that you
encounter xruns. Please apply all the above mentioned changes and start
jack again!
18:38:54.922 JACK was started with PID=3185.
18:38:54.946 JACK was stopped with exit status=255.
18:38:54.947 Post-shutdown script...
18:38:54.947 killall jackd
jackd: ingen process hittades
18:38:55.375 Post-shutdown script terminated with exit status=256.
18:38:57.033 Could not connect to JACK server as client. - Overall
operation failed. - Unable to connect to server. Please check the messages
window for more info.”
Of course I realize that one of the problems is that something called
”artsshell” seems to be missing, but what is it and do I need it?
One of the phrases above is in Swedish, so I will translate it for you:
”ingen process hittades” = ”no process was found”
Suggestions? I need it to work so I can play around a little with Ardour
and maybe Simple Sysexxer.
