10.04 LTS alternate

[Verde Denim]

Currently installing 10.04 LTS alternate on my laptop (desktop 64 bit
edition).
At the screen _Finishing the installation_, it's been sitting at 22% with
the message
Wiping swap space for security (this may take a while) ...
For over an hour on a system with 4GB RAM and a 150GB drive...

Is there something amiss or do I just need to continue to be patient?

Any input is (as always) appreciated.
