I/we don't know where you are (which country/location).

Most countries have Linux/Ubuntu User Groups which promote Linux and Ubuntu.

Have you looked to see if such a Group exists in your location or close 
to it?

Members of such a Group will go out of their way to provide you with a 
CD of Ubuntu for the 'cost' of simply having it exchanged by a new CD.

In any case, how did you manage to get 30 CDs of Ubuntu 10.04 to give 
away to friends but now cannot get some CDs of 10.10?
