Give some sources...

So perhaps installing grub2 to sda5 is the key. Also see:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Grub2
Changing or Moving GRUB 2
"# If the user attempts to run the command with a specific partition
(example: sudo grub-install /dev/sda6 ) a warning will be issued.
Specifying a partition is not recommended due to the use of blocklists,
which the developers consider unreliable. An option is provided on how
to override this recommendation if the user still wishes to do so.
But...

"TrueCrypt loading grub
At each boot time, TrueCrypt will recognize and offer chainloader
options for each bootloader it detected on the headers of other
partitions. These can be grub1 or grub2 (along with its own choices and
other operating systems). "
What happens when you hit Esc in the Truecrypt bootloader? Does it offer
you an option to boot to grub2?
