Cancelled 10.10 midway uh oh

When I ran dkpg it updated everything to 10.10. So far so good. Doesn't appear to be much of a change but the new themes are nice :-)

Is your objective to install Ubuntu from ISO ? 
In your case since already grub is existing on hard drive just go to 
command prompt of grub and try to give path to new initrd and vmlinuz 
on 10.10 CD ISO I am assuming you extracted kernel image and initramfs 
from ISO to a location on USB and then boot from it. 
You should get some thing that you can resolve.
