Yes, in the scripts that I said you should view.  I gave a list of all
the python scripts that make up do-release-upgrade... View them, you'll
notice a few things 1.) They import APT python, and 2.) They do
everything that we mentioned to do manually + Fix what you would need to
fix manually.
