It is my _personal_ opinion that it is immoral and unethical _not_ to warn
people that there is a chance, however small it may be, that things may go
wrong if they do something else than what is recommended, and that it may
be extremely difficult for someone else to help them if they run into
trouble, because there may be hardly any previous experience with whatever
goes wrong. After all, this is a users list, not a developers list, and I
don't expect the majority of this list to be familiar with gdb or other
debugging tools.
This is just my personal opinion, I never claimed that I speak on behalf
of the list and I will never make such a claim.
I also have the impression that you are "too fast on your horse", or
whatever the proper expression may be in English (I speak Dutch). Perhaps
I may not have conveyed some subtle nuances that you obviously master as a
native speaker of the language of the Great Bard. I'm not going to
apologize for something that cannot be remedied.
