The reason that I try to provide the links are so that the person with
the problem actually has information to refer to, read, and bookmark.

It's all well and good to say "here is the solution, do this". But the
way I learned Ubuntu (still learning & will always be learning) is to
learn how to use help.ubuntu.com, launchpad, and other resources
available. If folks hadn't provided me with links to the wealth of
resources available I'd still be stuck at Edgy or such.
