No. If you mount a device on an existing directory, the accesses to
that directory will all be redirected to the device. Anything that
was contained in the directory is just inaccessible while the device
is mounted there. When you unmount the device, the real contents are
again accessible.
The behavior you suggest would be horrendously destructive and way too
much work for the OS. :-)
