Please provide the output of the following commands, (I'm sorry, in this
case, since copy/paste is likely not an option, you'll have to
transcribe the information.
cat /etc/fstab (I'm only really inrested in the line that contains /home)
blkid
fdisk -l /dev/sda (repeat with /dev/sdb if you have two hard drives)
Note: There is a good chance what whatever has happened to your system
is catastrophic, and recovery will be re-install of the OS, possibly
with a new replacement hard drive.
