Information at login

[Smokin Chevy]

On my 10.04 servers it will show me when I ssh in that it has X number of
updates and if a reboot is currently required for a past update.  10.10 does
not.  How can I make it display that upon login.  I assume it is probably in
one of the . login files in the user's home.
