Problems with Firefox

Yes, I've found it slow, but I've always thought that this might be due to
having a lot of add-ons.  In comparing Chrome and Firefox are we comparing
like with like (taking all the functionalities into account)?  I've never
actually tried disabling or uninstalling the addons to make a test. Chrome
certainly loads faster.
