Cannot Launch Apps on panel on 10.04 Desktop

Hi Again,

I suspect the menu item is broken, is there a way to fix it. So any
menu item/applications under Applications Places and System do not
work
For example Applications --> Accessories --> Terminal do not open up
and similarly for other applications too.

Please suggest further,
