nvidia and kernel

I have a boinc error in a log that says:-

Error: API mismatch: the NVIDIA kernel module has version 195.36.24,
but this NVIDIA driver component has version 260.19.06.  Please make
sure that the kernel module and all NVIDIA driver components
have the same version.

I'm surprised that Ubuntu doesn't synchronise these.  Synaptic doesn't show
a 195.36.24 package.

I assume there's nothing I can do about this (apart from complain)?
