Openoffice.org Word Processor keeps shutting down on me in a middle of a document

Try a new OOo user profile. Rename:

$ /home/<username>/.openoffice.org

to

$ /home/<username>/.openoffice.org.bak

Restart OOo and it will create a new '/home/<username>/.openoffice.org'
folder. If it works there, then you have an issue with your user profile
and/or possibly add-on's/extentions.
