Lucid switchuser causes black screen

Yes, I've seen it in Mint.  If you switch to another user and then log
out that user you get a black screen and nothing but alt-SysRec-b gets
you out of it.

Mint and Ubuntu are very nearly identical. Mint adds some nice tools, a
[IMHO] better look and a paternalistic attitude about updates.  Mint
people say "upstream problem."

I don't have the problem in openSUSE with the same kernel, so it doesn't
seem to be kernel-related.
