Seperate ATI radeon or built-in GPU better?

for ubuntu i seems to have this weird switch user freeze problem.
im now thinking of switching from ATI gpu to my mobos in-built gpu.
is it ok?

mobo: biostar g31.

PS: btw i don't know the capacity of both the gpus.
