Okay, do this at grub-legacy prompt
grub> root   (hd0,5)
grub> kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.32-22-generic root=/dev/sda6 ro
grub> initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.6.32-22-generic
grub> boot

ps: there is the /boot/ in /boot/vmlinuz-xxxxx
