I'm stumped, perhaps someone else on the list has ideas?

The only things that I can think of (all WAG's) are:

1. Check to see if the images are correct & update grub:

$ sudo update-initramfs -c -k all
$ sudo update-grub

2. Reinstall grub2:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Grub2
[Reinstalling from LiveCD]
"SIMPLEST - Copy GRUB 2 Files
from the LiveCD"

3. Do an in-place reinstall of 10.04 (reinstall but keep the home folder
in place). If you'd like to do this let me know and I'll be happy to
talk you though it.

Anyone else have any suggestions?
