Installing 10.04 to 2TB disk, does not boot

This is thread is way to long for me to read it all so I'm just going
to throw it out there;

Have you checked you can actually boot form a GTP partitioned device
form your presumably non-EFI BIOS? I would of thought that was your
problem, you just needed an MS-DOS partition table for GRUB to read
from?

Anyway that's my two pence, good luck!
