Permissions? Is it possible that the archive is in a location that you
are not permitted to write to? A quick test here suggests that the menu
doesn't change, but KDA could be different. Odd error message if it's a
permissions thing, though.

Is it a network thing? Is the folder is mounted in a way that the
archive manager doesn't understand? I get that in some apps when they
try to open files that have names like "smb://....."

Mystified here.
