Ubuntu 10.04 forgets some settings…

I ran across something similar last week...

Can't recall exactly what fixed it, but I do recall doing the
suggestions in comment #6:

with the exception of installing simple-ccm (I just use ccsm).

On my system it's in the user settings as all seems to stick on other
user profiles. I also went through all of the ~/.xsession-errors &
worked through those one at a time. Possibly doing that last cleaned out
whatever was sticking.
