The best way to disable touchpad in Ubuntu

Is mouseemu package installed? If yes, try uninstalling it.


Also try installing hardinfo and run it from System Tools::System
Profiler and Benchmark. 

Go to Devices::Input Devices, and provide the the exact info of your
touchpad.
