PC does not recognize live CD

You could try checking that the image is correct and the cd is burned
correctly by checking it's md5sum.
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM shows how to check this using
md5sum /dev/cdrom
and where to find the correct sum.
This will rule out any issues downloading or burning.
