Basil: Right :). Neither have I, so I (also) don't say fedora is or is
not best than ubuntu.
I just try google for "fedora lvm" and for "ubuntu lvm" and watch the
differences.
Did a few more with "fedora raid" and "ubuntu raid" and so on.
May or may not be obvious, but I do believe ubuntu web support is much
better, and that that is important.
if you go into foruns, the differences are even bigger (for me they are).
You may say community is community, the software is another thing. Sure.
OP:
The correct thing is to say buy another disk, try them all (the
distros). So, and since you are a beginner, I'll just say start with
ubuntu. :)
There are several flavors, KDE/gnome/others, LTS, desktop/server, 32
and 64bits. If in doubt, ask for directions.
Go to http://www.ubuntu.com/, download the iso file, make a CD and
boot from it to install.
Backup your stuff first !
