I absolutely agree on this front, 'techie' users will want a decent
editor to edit the wiki pages rather than the textarea provided by the
Wiki. 

I either edit the files directly in place (since the server running
the Wiki is here at home) or I use mozdev which allows you to edit a
textarea with your favourite editor (in my case vile, another vi
clone).
