I have done all that. 3 months working on sound in linux (even though I am a
complete newbie) means that I am starting a little bit to know my way around
sound issues and what should and should not be done. But thank you for your
help anyhow. I have been struggling with sound on my TOSHIBA since day one.
I have tried to contact the folks at alsa project and comes out of it seems
that my sound card has no-compatibility just yet. The last ALSA version
1.0.23 gives a better support for snd-hda intel but it seems that 10.04 does
not agree with it as I freeze all the time when I have it installed on my
notebook.
