Virtualbox remote nettwork conectivity

I am trying to set up a virtual machine using the Sun version of
virtualbox. I have gotten the instance running, and set the network
interface to bridged. The instance gets an IP address from my dhcp server,
and can access all the way to he outside itself. But, I cna't sem to ping
or connect to this insance from my internal network. 

Am I missing a step here? I see a vboxnet0 interface in the host's
ifconfig.
