Actually...

[Lucid Live CD fails to display boot options w/o user action]
And I have to agree with Karl on this one... the "new & improved" liveCD
start menu is a regression IMO.
I've actually been caught off-guard by this new menu several times in
installing earlier lucid's. Old menu; I'm accustomed to doing several
things at once & the old menu gave me a lanuguage choice and a few
seconds to provide input/select/whatever. The "new & improved" (again if
I'm not paying attention & don't hit a key) zips right off to the
"international symbols". I wonder how well disabled folks are accepting
this change.

Boot options hidden by default on Desktop and Netbook CDs
The Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Desktop and Netbook CDs feature a new boot
interface that is noninteractive by default. To configure advanced boot
options, press any key at the first boot screen.

This, to me, seems like the "new & improved" metacity menu options
whereby all the bits moved to the right to imitate an Apple interface.
