Ubuntu 9.10 Hangs Frequently

Internet should be available in recovery mode,see your modem is turned on
and cables are properly connected.if still unlucky,boot normally into ubuntu
run "computer jaintor" to clean and remove unused and un necessary programs
from the operating system.Also kill or disable unnecessary services through
the "system monitor" tool located under system - administration - system
testing.
