I had a similar problem with my test install of Lucid where I couldn't 
see all of the existing controls in kmix. I closed kmix and then removed 
the config files "~/.kde/share/config/kmixctrlrc" and 
"~/.kde/share/config/kmixrc". Then I started kmix again and I could find 
the previously missing controls. BTW: I think you can't find the mic of 
your USB camera on the hda nvidia tab but on a separate tab. At least 
that's what I have seen on the machine of a friend who has a Logitech 
camera with mic (no, it isn't tne 9000 and he doesn't use Skype).
