Yes, yes, yes! You're right and there's this warning. In fact, when 
you've looked at my new message on modifying 'first grub', there will 
even be a stronger message whenever new kernel or grub version is 
installed. It says something like this

"Installing the grub other than to the mbr is a BAD THING TO DO."

But then....
