Same issuues with my New HP Laptop "Pavilion dv-73165dx"
No sound and no camera...
Mine appears to have the sound working because the touch
adjustments for the sound above the keyboard work.
Mute, Sound bar, fast foreward and rewind, pause and stop.

Also once in a while the LCD goes to vertical brown bars...
reboot fixes it... I think a driver for the LCD is in order...

Love the Ubuntu OS ... Hate Windows 7!!!
