I've configured G60-530US laptop to multi-boot (all 64bit):
- Win7
- 8.04.4 (hardy) - 2.24-27-generic kernel
- 9.10 (karmic)
- 10.04 (lucid)
In all except 8.04 the wireless works w/o issues. In 8.04 it doesn't
even fine the wifi hardware. lshw from karmic shows:
*-network

I've checke System|Administration|Harware Drivers etc., and hardy
doesn't find any drivers. I checked launchpad & google &
(https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/Driver/) and can't seem to
find anything that jumps out to resolve the problem.
It's not a major issue as I've only installed 8.04 to test 64bit: 1)
SeaMonkey 2.0.4+, 2) test upgrading from 8.04 to 10.4 (eventual), and 3)
test for sound issues (speakers & headphones on at the same time). But
it's bothersome to not have wireless in 8.04, so if anyone has run
accros the same issue, or have suggestions, I'd appreciate
comments/opinions.
