Hi.
I'm a beginner user of Ubuntu(and also Linux), using Ubuntu 9.10.
I tried to setup linux-firewall.org using this steps(as mentioned in
www.linux-firewall.org):
1. Add the package source "universe"
2. Update local packages database:
apt-get update
3. Download Linux-Firewall.org, double click on the package to run
gdebi(-kde) and select "Install Package". If you have already opened
the file you will have to close gdebi(-kde) and open the package once
again.
4. Run the following commands:
sudo lfwsetup
sudo ln -fs ~/.Xauthority /root/.Xauthority
sudo chown USERNAME.root ~/.Xauthority
(you will have to replace USERNAME with your username)
5. Restart your PC and enjoy the software
Until step 4, I hadn't any problem. But when I run "sudo chown
hamed.root ~/.Xauthority", I get this error:
chown: cannot access `/home/hamed/.Xauthority': No such file or directory
Ignoring this error, after restarting the computer, firewall starts
automatically but it doesn't recognize any programs and blocks all the
traffic in "high security level". I can use the Internet just in "open
firewall" level.
Can anybody help me please?
Thank you,
Hamed Abdy
