To paraphrase the words of Michael Cricton(sp?) in Jurassic Park....

"just because you can, doesn't mean you should"

Seriously, I'm a Solaris admin by day, and use Ubuntu everywhere apart
from my DMZ and my SUN workstations at home, complete with a network
install configuration and a Ubuntu LTSP - if this was me for
provisioning Solaris machines on either x86 or SPARC, I'd stick with
JET..

JET just works.

You've already saved by consolidating/virtualising by putting the
Solaris in a VM, if you want/need to build more Solaris machines, let
JET strut it's stuff from there.

One last thing ...
What we say at work, "best for class".
e.g. NetIQ might work great for Windows, but in our experience is
dino-dung on UNIX - so UNIX used Hobbit/XYmon..(and saved us a truck
load of cash)
See what I mean ?
