All Linux distros have a packet filter called netfilter and I have yet 
to see one that does not enable it in their distro kernel.

I work with /etc/network/interfaces so my apologizes if I cannot help 
you with a gui tool (which I do not touch with a ten foot pole btw) but 
I have heard of Firestarter and UFW (aka Uncomplicated Firewall)
