ssh can not login

Make sure sshd is running on your  remote machine..

ps -ef | grep -i sshd

Try telnet machine 22

I just had a problem with ssh last weekend.  I got all kinds of help. 
If youload the last 200 headers or so, then search for "broken ssh" 
you'll find all the tips I got for trouble shooting the problem.
