Upgrade and session issues

I have a machine that I just upgraded from 9.04 to 10.04. This machine is
set up to autologin, and run a script that ssh's to a number of amchines,
and runs gkrellm. I use this for monitoring various machines.

Now that I have upgraded it. It starts to autologin, starts the script that
does the ssh'ing, and they appear on the display, but I never get a window
manager etc. When I ssh to that machine, the only tasks running for the
autologin user are the gkrellm's.

Why is my session not starting up? How do I fix this?

A: Because it messes up the order in which people normally read text.
Q: Why is top-posting such a bad thing?
A: Top-posting.
Q: What is the most annoying thing in e-mail?
