Or, point your nntp client to news.gmane.org and then subscribe to
gmane.linux.ubuntu.user
If using SeaMonkey or Thunderbird you can simply enter the search term
in the search box, or perform an Advanced search to search within the
body, headers etc. Archives go back to 09/17/2004.
