sudo and TTY=pts/1

Hi!

I don't know if this is wanted behaviour...
In a terminal I sudo and have to provide my password. So far so good. 
But when I close the terminal window and
start another (I think with the same pts) and sudo again, I don't have 
to provide a password.
Is that normal?
